The Technology Hobbit Chat: New guy, Project C.A.R.S, HALO 4

TechnoHobbit: Welcome to the second edition of The Technology Hobbit Chat, I am your host TechnoHobbit, and to day I have with me.....

DJ Fluffy Kitty Cat: Yo whats up. I'm DJ Fluffy Kitty Cat.

EwokLemonade: Hey guys, im EwokLemonade

TechnoHobbit: Is there anything technology or video game related you guys want to chat about today?

DJ Fluffy Kitty Cat: I'm blank Ewok any ideas?

EwokLemonade: No ideas.

TechnoHobbit: I guess I will choose a topic. . . There's this new racing game called Project Cars, that going to come out in 2013 it looks cool, here are some videos:

DJ Fluffy Kitty Cat: What game system will it be for?

TechnoHobbit: It going to be for: Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U, and PC.

DJ Fluffy Kitty Cat: This looks pretty cool.

EwokLemonade: Yeah. I'm not one for racing games, but it seems cool.

DJ Fluffy Kitty Cat: I like the side mirror thing.

TechnoHobbit: Yeah.

EwokLemonade: Yea

TechnoHobbit: Anyone want to choose the next topic?

DJ Fluffy Kitty Cat: Techno do you play Minecraft?

TechnoHobbit: Nope not yet.

EwokLemonade: Minecraft is an awesome game.

DJ Fluffy Kitty Cat: Well Ewok and I do. But there is this new HUGE update coming for it and it looks awesome.

TechnoHobbit: I'm going to have to try it!

DJ Fluffy Kitty Cat: It is fun. Ewok and I play multiplayer together for like hours at a time and it is seriously adicting.

TechnoHobbit: I have heard that there some Zelda themed stuff on Minecraft.

DJ Fluffy Kitty Cat: Zelda themed stuff?

TechnoHobbit: Like the Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past's overworld.

DJ Fluffy Kitty Cat: Oh. you can like make a map and like a story line and stuff. and then you can make a folder and save the map to that folder. then people can download the map folder and play your map.

TechnoHobbit: Ah

DJ Fluffy Kitty Cat: They are called adventure maps

TechnoHobbit: I have to play this game!

DJ Fluffy Kitty Cat: Yea.

TechnoHobbit: Ok PS3 Super Slim: are the rumors true or false http://technologyhobbit.blogspot.com/201...    I'm thinking they are true, though it's weird that Sony didn't show it off at E3.

DJ Fluffy Kitty Cat: I think the rumors are probably true, but I'm not exited.

TechnoHobbit: Same here

DJ Fluffy Kitty Cat: I have a PS3, but it isn't really my thing. The biggest argument from PS3 fans are that its online accounts are free, but PS3 is for singleplayer games. There is a reason you pay for Xbox Live its better.

TechnoHobbit: The one good thing is that used PS3 are going to be cheap! (If they go under $80, I may have to buy one)

DJ Fluffy Kitty Cat: Yeah

TechnoHobbit: Anyone want to choose a topic?

DJ Fluffy Kitty Cat: Well I can't wait for HALO 4 to come out.

TechnoHobbit: I still have only seen that one video they showed at E3, it looks cool.

DJ Fluffy Kitty Cat:

EwokLemonade: So, where were we?

DJ Fluffy Kitty Cat: HALO 4

EwokLemonade: Someones excited

TechnoHobbit: Looks really cool, though it has a bit too much shooting for my tastes.

EwokLemonade: Shooters are one of my favorite game types.

DJ Fluffy Kitty Cat: Yah but they're just showing off the new stuff.

EwokLemonade: But they can get old.

DJ Fluffy Kitty Cat: You can pretty much do any thing in custom games.

TechnoHobbit: The main thing I don't care for is the controls. (Editor's Note: and a minor fear of blood)

EwokLemonade: Ah. You don't like shooting with the triggers? Or is it the movement?

DJ Fluffy Kitty Cat: I like the controls. Easy and simple.

EwokLemonade: I like the controls too.  That's probably because we are so used to them though. (Editor's Note: Yeah, I admit I have only played duel analog stick shooters for 50 mins in a store)

TechnoHobbit: It's how you aim, I don't like the second analog stick. (Editor's Note: When I play a  shooter, I use my PC)

DJ Fluffy Kitty Cat: I personally love the two anolog sticks it is awesome.

EwokLemonade: I agree.

TechnoHobbit: You see in real life I have a really good aim, in  duel  anolog sticks shooters I have a bad aim (Yes, I have a bad aim ).

DJ Fluffy Kitty Cat: Yeah in real life it is a lot more fun to shoot.

EwokLemonade: LoL. I don't think I have ever shot a real gun, but airsoft and bb's are fun enough.

DJ Fluffy Kitty Cat: Real guns are the best

TechnoHobbit: I never have shot a real gun (I'm have a good aim in archery, and a few other things).

EwokLemonade: Archery I have done.

DJ Fluffy Kitty Cat: I'm so jealous archery is the best thing ever invented

TechnoHobbit: Oh, and I also have a good aim in some Wii games (like in Skyward Sword).

DJ Fluffy Kitty Cat: coolzi o's

EwokLemonade: I suck at aiming the bow in ALL Zelda games. I'm so ashamed

DJ Fluffy Kitty Cat:

EwokLemonade: Shut up princess, LOL.

DJ Fluffy Kitty Cat: *princess*

TechnoHobbit: HA HA HA. I have to go now, bye and thanks for chatting! (hope we can chat again soon!)

DJ Fluffy Kitty Cat: Yah it was fun .

EwokLemonade: This is EwokLemonade Signing off.

TechnoHobbit: Bye!!!

EwokLemonade: BUHBYE

DJ Fluffy Kitty Cat: autro of clapy ness

EwokLemonade:

DJ Fluffy Kitty Cat: MEOOOOOOOOOWWW!!!!!!!!!!!

Wii U Box Art!!

Earlier to day we found out that the plastic of the Wii U game cases is going to be blue. So I was wondering how the box-art from AC3, Just Dance 4, and Avengers: Battle For Earth, would look like with the blue case, so I did a little Photoshop and this is what I came up with:
Assassin's Creed 3 Wii U Box Art

Just Dance 4 Wii U Box Art

The Avengers: Battle for Earth Wii U Box Art
Here's other box-art (with the case) we already know:
Batman: Arkham City Armored Edition Box Art
Rayman Legends Box Art
Here's some box-art (with the case) I made and may not be how the final box art looks:
Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Wii U Box Art
Nintendo Land Box Art
New Super Mario Bros. U Box Art

Looks pretty cool doesn't it?

Is The Plastic Of Wii U Game Cases Aqua Blue?

It looks like the plastic of the Wii U game cases are going to be either aqua blue or bright aquamarine -- see the pics below:

This one is aqua blue

This one is bright aquamarine
I personally like the aqua blue, but don't care for the bright aquamarine. What do you guys think?

Update:
It looks like they changed Batman: Arkham City Armored Edition's game case to aqua blue:

Yet Another Post Proving the Wii U's Power

Since some people still believe there is no Wii U ports, that look better than what the PS3/Xbox 360 ports. I have made this post to let them see for themselves weather or not, the Wii U has better graphics:

In the PS3 version: textures aren't as clear, the explosion looks less real, the sky is less detailed, the blimp isn't included, banners on the building aren't included and the draw distance is less (blurry buildings).  In the Wii U version:  Lots and lots of detail, better textures, large draw distance, and amazing sky.

Wii U version: better lighting.
(click on photo to make bigger) Note the Wii U version's extra contrast and defined edges.
(click on photo to make bigger) The Wii U version has much better textures (see the wood on the wall), more detailed grass, and larger draw distance. (The reason the Wii U version darker and has a reflection is because it was video taped  off a television screen at E3)

Well, what do you think? Witch has better graphics? Comment below!

Project CARS, Gameplay and Graphics Videos

Project CARS, is coming out for the Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U, and PC in mid 2013 (buy it for the Wii U or PC--if you have a good PC). The video (make sure watch it in full-screen, and 1080 HD) above shows how the shadows, clouds, and lighting in the game changes over time, it's amazing, though I do have one compliant: most of the clouds don't have shadows. Then again, the game is still in the early development stage, and they have a year to fix it.

^Love the the detail in the trees^

^Love the the detail in the car^

Project CARS looks like it's going to be a very cool (and realistic) racing game.

Member of the Technology Hobbit Chat and Reviewer Q&A: EwokLemonade

This Q&A was made so that you can know the likes and dislikes of one of the people that is a member of the Technology Hobbit Chat, and so you can find which of the reviewer's has the same tastes in video game's, and therefor chose which review to trust.

EwokLemonade Q&A

What video game consoles do you own? (And what have you owned, but no longer have):

I have Xbox, original and 360, PS1, GameCube, Wii, and multiple DS's and Gameboys.

What is your preferred way to play video games? (consoles, PC's, phones-tablets, ext.) And why?:

Usually consoles are the best, but I also enjoy a lot of PC games, specifically Minecraft. I also will play the occasional iOS game on an iPod. I do prefer consoles because of the gameplay and graphics quality.

What is your preferred--7th Gen--home video game console? (Xbox 360, PS3, or Wii) And why?:

In my personal opinion, the 360 is the best. Although the Wii was very interesting when it first came out, because the technology was only available for that specific console at the time, the games and their gameplay lacked. Besides the Legend of Zelda games and some Mario games. I don't care much for the PS3, mostly because I have never owned one, and I really don't intend to, although it's graphics are mildly higher than that of the xbox.

What is your preferred handheld video game console? And why?:

The Gameboy. No doubt. I grew up on that device, and forever it shall remain in my heart, and in my hand.

What is your preferred video game developer? And why?

I am a big fan of Valve as well as Treyarch and Activision, because of the quality and, well, fun aspects of the games they make.

What 8th gen handheld video game console looks the coolest? And why? (only answer if you don't own a 8th gen handheld video game console (3DS, and PS Vita), or don't think you own the coolest):

Probably the PS vita. I had a PSP for a very long time (until I didn't play it as much, so I sold it to my brother who then sold it for twice as much) so I knew how fun that system was. The PS vita looks awesome, and I might have to buy it soon.

What is your favorite video game franchise? And why?:

Probably either the Portal series, or maybe the Call of Duty franchise. They both are amazing, and most of all, fun.

What is your favorite video game? And why?:

I can't say that I actually have a favorite. I love many games by many different developers. I do not have a solid answer.

What is the worst game you have played? And why?:

I'd have to say one of the Tiger Woods franchise golf games. I couldn't play more than 5 minutes without immediately turning off the Xbox.

What next gen video game (Wii U{the only one we know anything about, unless you cont rumors}, Xbox 720, or PS4) console do you look forward to the most? And why?:

The 720. Definitely. The Xbox is my favorite console, and the 720, I hope, will surpass it in every way.

What do you think about the Wii U?:

I think Nintendo is really trying, but they also need to really step up their game if their going to beat their competitors at Microsoft and Sony.

Who is your favorite "Tech Titan"? (Apple, Microsoft, or Google) And why?:

I love all of them, I only use apple iPods as opposed to any MP3 devices. I only use PCs and Microsoft computers. And, I ONLY use Google as my search engine.

Witch of the Big 3 do you like most? And why?:

Like I said, I don't have a favorite.

DJ Fluffy Kitty Cat Q&A

What video game consoles do you own? (And what have you owned, but no longer have):

Xbox 360, Wii, PS3. Previously owned Nintendo 64 I think, PS1, PS2, and Xbox.

What is your preferred way to play video games? (consoles, PC's, phones-tablets, ext.):

Consoles.

What is your preferred--7th Gen--home video game console? (Xbox 360, PS3, or Wii) And why?

Xbox 360 because of the multiplayer experience and awesome video games.

What is your preferred handheld video game console? And why?
iPod touch (if that counts) because of how the whole app thing works and free apps and fun stuff.

What is your preferred video game developer? And why?

Microsoft because they make fun and enjoyable games that are not always for children (which is a good thing) and just makes it fun to play online with your buddies.

Which of the Big 3 do you like most? Why?

Microsoft Because they don't only make video game consoles they make computers and lots of other stuff also.

What is your preferred handheld video game console? And why?

I would have to say the 3DS because I never really liked the PS handheld's, they just sort of sucked.

What is your favorite video game franchise? And why?

Halo because the way it was made was just awesome. I like Star trek, stargate, and star wars, Halo is like them all combined and put into a video game. It is by far my favorite video game franchise.

What is your favorite video game? And why?
Right now my favorite video game is probably Halo Reach. Halo Reach is the latest Halo game (if you don't count Halo Anniversary). It is my favorite of the Halo's. In story line it is a prequel to the others but in multiplayer it is way cooler.

What is the worst game you have played? And why?

Worst game I have ever played is Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfare. I completely hated that game (with a passion). The controls were not like any other war game. And the game play was boring (it was for the Xbox just to let you know).

What next gen video game (Wii U{the only one we know anything about, unless you cont rumors}, Xbox 720, or PS4) console do you look forward to the most? And why?
Well I guess the Xbox 720. I'm an Xbox fan and that's mostly why. I haven't actually heard anything about the Xbox 720 but i guess 360 is cool 720 has to be cooler.

What do you think about the Wii U?

Ah the Wii U I think it actually looks pretty cool with its Wii controller connecting to the Wii and stuff. But I won't get it because it doesn't bedazzle me. I have said it a few times I'm not a big Wii fan and most likely never will be.

Who is your favorite "Tech Titan"? (Apple, Microsoft, or Google) And why?

I like Google for its search engine, but that's where I stop liking Google. Google+ is just kinda dumb to me when there is Yahoo available. Apple and Microsoft is where it is hard for me. Apple has iPod's and computers. Microsoft has computers and video games. But when it comes down I like video games more than listening to music. Microsoft is the best in my mind.

Analyst Michael Pachter Says Activision Forced Nintendo To Make the Wii U Pro Controller: Yeah Right

In a interview with Edge, the anti-Nintendo analyst Michael Pachter said, "Activision never said anything to me, but I know that [for] big games like Call Of Duty they said, 'No, we're not putting it on there if you don't give us a conventional controller'. So they gave in."

Sorry, Michael Pachter, I don't trust you. AT. ALL. How do you "know" this if Activision never said anything to you? Did you know Activision puts Call Of Duty on almost anything? Whether it be a PC, an HD console (Xbox 360 and PS3), a Nintendo DS, a PlayStation Portable, the Wii, an iPhone, or a BlackBerry, you name it.  I doubt they hate the screen so much that they would require Nintendo to make this. . .

. . . in order for them to put Call of Duty on the Wii U.  While this. . .

. . . can do everything the Wii U Pro Controller can, plus more. For one thing, with the Wii U GamePad you don't need to buy a headset to play online, instead you can use the built-in Mic and speakers (or you can plug a pair of ear buds into the headphone jack)! The only thing the Wii U Pro Controller is good for is local multi-player games and fighting games like Street Fighter or Tekken (where it can be distracting).

The Technology Hobbit Chat: Games We're Excited About, 3DS XL, and Favorite Genres

TechnoHobbit: Welcome to the first edition of The Technology Hobbit Chat, I am your host TechnoHobbit, and to day I have with me.....

DJ Fluffy Kitty Cat: Hey, I'm DJ Fluffy Kitty Cat

TechnoHobbit: Is there anything technology or video game related you want to chat about today?

DJ Fluffy Kitty Cat: Well I was thinking to start the chat off we should talk about video games. And not just any video games, but the ones we are exited for that are not out yet.

TechnoHobbit: Ok, I'm most excited for, Pikmin 3 (Wii), and Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon (3DS). What games are you looking forward to?

DJ Fluffy Kitty Cat: Halo 4 (Xbox 360), Assassin's Creed III (any), Call of Duty: Black Op's 2 (Xbox 360).

TechnoHobbit: I think Halo 4 looks cool, and like how it won't be less focused on shooting (don't care for shooters).

DJ Fluffy Kitty Cat: Yah the graphics look way better than the latest one (Halo Reach),  anthe multiplayer looks just plain amazing.

TechnoHobbit: I don't play many multiplayer game besides Mario Kart 7, so how is the multiplayer different compared to other games in the same genre?

DJ Fluffy Kitty Cat: Well they haven't leaked to much of the Game but just small details like there will be a Spec Ops like game variant (from COD Modern Warfare 2,3) that looks pretty fun. The ranking system is also nice where you don't just get XP for winning, but credits which you can use to buy things like armour or voices for your character.

TechnoHobbit:‎ Ah, sounds cool!

DJ Fluffy Kitty Cat: Yah I can't wait.

TechnoHobbit: I guess, I will choose the next topic: 3DS XL http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HBIMIvphgEs&feature=relmfu

DJ Fluffy Kitty Cat: Cool so its like a big DS?‎ How big is it exactly?

TechnoHobbit:‎ Like a big 3DS. The system's top screen is 4.88 inches, while the lower screen is 4.18 inches. Both screens will be 90% larger than on the original 3DS.

DJ Fluffy Kitty Cat:‎ Dang! That's pretty cool.

TechnoHobbit:‎ Yeah! The few people who have seen one say games look awesome on that screen and the 3D sweet-spot (were you can see the 3D) is bigger.

DJ Fluffy Kitty Cat:‎ Thats sounds awesome.

TechnoHobbit:‎‎ You want to choose the last topic?

DJ Fluffy Kitty Cat: Yah I was thinking we should end it with what kind of video game genre do you like most? RPG, Shooter, Racing? like what is your favorite kind of gameplay?

TechnoHobbit:‎ Ok.

DJ Fluffy Kitty Cat: I prefer RPG the most (I know its a little weird since my favorite game is not really a role playing game although it kinda is) because I like playing as myself in video games.

TechnoHobbit:‎I have played one RPG: Super Paper Mario, it's fun. My favorite genres are: Action-Adventure, Platformer's, and Racing

DJ Fluffy Kitty Cat: ‎ Yes those are fun and enjoyable. What is your favorite of those genres? Video game I mean.

TechnoHobbit:‎ Hard question, my favorite genre has to be.... Action-Adventure, and my favorite video game in that genre is (so far) The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword.

DJ Fluffy Kitty Cat:‎ Oh I cant wait to buy that. I have been meaning to, but I am just so busy.

TechnoHobbit:‎ Cool, I think some places are saleing it for $30. Oh, and if you don't have one you also have to buy a Wii MotionPlus expansion, or a Wii Remote Plus

DJ Fluffy Kitty Cat:‎ OK.‎ Oh yeah (just to let you know) my favorite RPG is The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. it is pretty fun.

TechnoHobbit:‎ I have heard that game is good (and is getting some nice DLC). I have to go now so, bye (and thanks for chatting)!!!!

DJ Fluffy Kitty Cat: Alright can't wait for the next chat. See Yah.

Rumor: PS3 Super Slim Coming Out Soon?

(Credit: Mojo/Neogaf.com)
Lately there have been some rumors flying around saying that a PS3 Super Slim is going to come out during the 2012 holiday season, sometime in November.  I didn't believe it until the following pictures leaked:

(Credit: Tecnoblog)

(Credit: Tecnoblog)
As you can see it's a lot more slim than the PS3 Slim, and it has the model number CECH-4000 (the first PS3 had the model number CECH-L00, and the PS3 Slim had the model number CECH-3000).

Speculation time:  I think they are going to release the PS3 super slim in November at the price of $200 with a 80 GB hard drive in an attempt to combat the Wii U when it also releases this holiday season. Then  they will lower the price to $150 when Microsoft releases the Xbox 720 in 2013.  Then, contrary to popular belief, Sony will wait to release the PS4 until 2014 instead of at the same time the Xbox 720 is released.  Please remember this is just speculation.

Nintendo Won't be Making an FPS, Apparently (According to the Media) That Means Nintendo is Stuck in the Past

Earlier this week Satoru Iwata (president of Nintendo) said: "You shouldn't be expecting Call of Duty-like games to be offered from Nintendo. For that type of game my belief is that, if there are companies out there who can do this very well, then instead of us try to do it this, or to compete with them, it would be better to have them do it on our platforms, so to invite them and to support them to offer this kind of entertainment on our platform" (Source: Independent).

That sounds like a good idea to me, but apparently not making an FPS, according to some of the media, means Nintendo is stuck in the past and doesn't make Hardcore games: "So if there's anything truly 'hardcore' (meaning: not including Mario or the likes) on the Wii U, it will have to come from third parties" (Source: Fragland) and "This Examiner doesn't blame Nintendo to sticking with what they know. For Nintendo, Mario and Zelda has been their bread and butter and why they may push innovation in one department, they're franchises are stuck in the past. It doesn't make them bad games, it means that if you've played on [sic] Mario or Zelda game, you've played them all"(Source: Examiner) .

How can sticking to your morals and choosing not to compete in a genre that's filled with highly popular games like of Call of Duty, Halo, Battlefield, and Tom Clancy, in (in my opinion) a genre that's not very innovative make Nintendo stuck in the past and not hardcore? Dude, Nintendo is the one least in the past: they are making a new high-tech console, while Microsoft and Sony are still insisting that 6-7 year old tech is still high-tech, not to mention that Zelda: Skyward Sword uses high-tech motion controls.

Though I agree that the first Zelda and Zelda: Skyward Sword are the almost exactly the same (same with Mario). . . . okay, that was me being sarcastic--I don't really agree with that. Just play Super Mario Sunshine and Super Mario Galaxy, or any other Mario games, and you will see that they are not almost the same (same with Zelda).

How I think friend codes will work on the Wii U (you will like it)

Nintendo has confirmed that the Wii U will have "Simplified" Friend Codes (note: friend codes are generally considered a nuisance). Some think that means the Wii U will have FC's only a little better than the Wii's.  Others think it will be like the 3DS's FC's (if you own a 3DS you will know it's not bad). Others think the Wii U's FC's will be a little better than the 3DS's, and there are a few people (myself included) who think the Wii U's FC's will be something like this:

You have a friend whose name is (insert popular name here), and he that just got a Wii U.  You want to add him to your friend list, so you search for him on Miiverse, and there are multiple people with the same name (with Mii's that look almost the same). Thankfully he told you his Friend Code, so you press the "show Friend Code" button, and there he is.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here's what I think in non-story form: Friend Codes will exist so multiple people can have the same username (something not possible on Xbox Live and PSN). The Friend Codes give an easy way to tell people apart who have the same username as 100s of other people, but they are not necessary to know in order to add someone to your friend list, therefor making friend codes helpful not a nuisance. Though remember this is just a theory.

The Non Specific Action Figure Complete Saga

In the Nintendo Direct -- Pre E3 2012, Non Specific Action Figure was introduced in a promotional video for Nintendo’s Miiverse. He became very popular among Nintendo fans, so Nintendo had him appear in more videos throughout E3. Here is "The Non Specific Action Figure Complete Saga" with all the the official Non Specific Action Figure videos:

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess Hours 0 and 1 Review

This is part of my Review-as-I-Play-It series, where I write a review for every two (or so) hours of a game I'm playing. You are reading my review for The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess Hours 0 to 1. I will also have a review of Super Paper Mario starting on Saturday.

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess is my second Zelda game (my first was Skyward Sword).

Controls:

If this was the first motion control Zelda game I had played I would give it a 9/10 for controls, but since I  played Skyward Sword before this one, I'm spoiled, so I give it a 6/10. I won't go into details, but here's my main complaints: instead of being able to swing my Wiimote in the direction I want my sword to go in, I have to press a button while swinging my Wiimote (and the direction I swing in doesn't matter). My other main complaint is that it's such a pain to change the item you're using (like changing from a lantern to a slingshot). Though comparing the controls of a 2011 game that has MotionPlus to a 2006 Wii launch game -- that's a port of a GameCube game -- is not fair.

Warning Spoilers! Only Read If You Have Played The Game

What I think of the first 2 hours:

Some of the first 1.3 hours was sort of boring, like the fishing part -- I'm not a big fishing fan, plus it took me 20 minutes to actually catch a fish. It did, however, have it's fun parts, such as riding the horse to roundup the goat's, solving that one puzzle with the birds, and meeting the people in the village.

The next 0.7 hours was really fun for the end of the beginning of a game (may be funner then Skyward Sword's). My first enemy was a Deku Baba (one of those big, carnivorous plants) and I'm disappointed by the lack of strategy required to defeat them (Skyward Sword Deku plants were a lot harder to defeat). Than I was attacked by a skinny blue goblin (not sure what they're called? Where's Fi when you need her...) once again I was disappointed by the lack of strategy required to defeat them (MotionPlus makes all difference).

It was still really fun, though after saving the kid I had to roundup the goats again ("Link, are you okay, you were 00.01.45 seconds slower than usual"), after that I was criticized for overworking my horse (that's why I like loftwings -- you can't overwork them). Anyway, something happened and now I'm wolf, and now this annoying giggling creature is talking to me. ...And then I had to quit the game after this. Can't wait to see how the gameplay is as a wolf.  I give it a 9/10 for the first 2 hours.

Come back on Monday-Tuesday to see what I think of the next 2 to 4 hours, and come back tomorrow for my thoughts on the first 1 to 2 hours of Super Paper Mario.

Nintendo's E3 2012 Press Conference

The new Wii U GamePad

That was one of the best E3 press conference I have ever watched (9.8 out of 10).  There is no doubt about it Nintendo won E3, and Nintendo still has one more major press conference and one more minor press conference. My favorite part is at the beginning, when.... Well, you can see it for yourself: (For those who don't know, Miyamoto created Mario, Donkey Kong, The Legend of Zelda, Star Fox, F-Zero, Pikmin, the Wii series, and more. He is considered to be one of the greatest video game developers in the world.)

In my opinion that right there is cooler than Microsoft's entire E3 Press Conference. The one thing that I didn't care for was the fact Satoru Iwata (the president of Nintendo) was not there... Right now it's hard to find a video (at the time I'm writing this) of the press conference, so here's what was revealed and more.

Wii U Games Shown:
Nintendo showed off 23 Wii U games and said that many more would be revealed later. (I have included "New" by every game that has never been announced before for the Wii U.)

Everything Wii Know About the Wii U

It's been more than 1 year and 3 months since Project Cafe rumors started appearing on the internet, and now the Wii U's second E3 is approaching fast, so let's look back at what we know about Nintendo's sixth home video game console.

Release date: By Christmas 2012

Price: MORE THAN $250

Processor: A custom-designed IBM POWER7 processor (same processor found in the Watson supercomputer, and if it's good enough for Watson, it should be good enough for you).

Supported Resolution's: 480i, 480p, 576p, 720p, 1080i, 1080p (and possibly 2560x1600)

Graphics Processing Unit: A custom-designed Radeon HD similar to the Radeon R700 architecture (3 years newer than the Xbox 360 & PS3's architecture).

Media (Discs): The Wii U will use a disc format developed by Panasonic based on China Blue High-definition Disc, but with the ability to handle more layers.  It has capacities up to 75 GB, (the Xbox 360's disc format has capacities up to 8.7 GB, and the PS3's disc format has capacities up to 100 GB). The Wii U is also backward compatible with Wii Optical Discs.

Storage: Internal flash memory, supports SD cards and USB hard drives to increase hard drive space.

Supported Controllers: Wii U controller (see below), Wii MotionPlus/Wii Remote Plus, Classic Controller Pro, Wii Balance Board.

Backward Compatibility: All Wii games and peripherals are backward compatible with the Wii U.

Other: 4 USB 2.0 Ports (2 at front of console, 2 at rear), HDMI 1.4 port (interesting fact: HDMI 1.4 supports 3D images), Sensor Bar power port.

The Controller

Dimensions: 5.3 inches high x 0.9 inches deep

Screen: A 6.2 inch 16:9 resistive touchscreen with a resolution of 854×480 (could be higher when the final-form is shown at E3). (Note: Some people say that since it's a resistive touchscreen it can't support multi-touch, but that is not true. Resistive touchscreens can support multi-touch and still be a lot more accurate than the touchscreen you can find on a iPad.)

Buttons: It has 12 buttons, A/B/X/Y face buttons, ZL/ZR bumper buttons, L/R trigger buttons, and Select, Start, Home, and Power, buttons.

Sticks & D-Pad's: Two Circle Pads (like those on the 3DS) and one D-pad, or if the leaked photo is real, then two Analog sticks and one D-pad.

Motion Control: It has a 3-axis accelerometer and 3-axis gyroscope, like the 3DS.

Battery: A rechargeable battery pack.

Wireless: Bluetooth and NFC (Near field communication chip, not Nintendo Fried Chicken, see Rayman Legends concept trailer below).

Other: Rumble, a 3.5mm Headphone jack, a Volume Slider, a microphone, a front-facing camera, built-in speakers, and a IR sensor strip (for Wii Remotes).

Online Services

The Wii U will use the newly announced Nintendo Network, we currently don't know much about the Wii U's Nintendo Network features (we don't know that much about the 3DS's Nintendo Network features either), but here's the little we know:

Nintendo Network Features: User Accounts, the ability to buy and download full retail games, online gameplay, Videocalls, Virtual Console (in a interview, Nintendo's Amber McCollum said that GameCube games would be available for download on the Wii U's Virtual Console, in addition to the games you can already buy on the Wii's Virtual Console), DLC (paid downloadable content), downloadable-only software, game patches, and Wii U-3DS connectivity.
